Who we are?

My name is Michael Triesten, and I am a medical doctor. Both my life and practice are based in Auckland, New Zealand.

I was born and raised in Kumeu and moved to the city for college. Although I love my profession, I always had a passion for motorcycles. Since my father used to take me for a ride on his Honda Super Cub every weekend, I developed a fondness for these types of vehicles. As soon as I got my first job I started to save and bought my first Yamaha, but I knew that I wanted a collection.

After that, there was a time in which my university studies and early practices as a physician took most of my time. But one day everything changed. There came a time in my career in which I generated the means to make my dreams come true. Since I own my own clinic, I have a decent income and the possibility to invest time in my favourite pastime: motorcycles.

My first bikes

As I said, my first bike was a Yamaha V-Max. I was pleased to find out that this model had a powerful engine that could be used both in the city and on longer trips. Bought with some of my savings and money from my trust fund, this bike was with me throughout my college years.

After having worked as a doctor for three years, I upgraded to a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. This model gave me all the comfort I needed for the city with a classy, unique style. My next bike was a Triumph Rocket III Roadster for long trips. This was a powerful machine that took me and my wife through many adventures and travels.

This was only the start of my collection which now adds up to 18 different models.

Our vision: The Motorcycle Trader blog

I decided I wanted to build a blog on motorcycles. The idea back then was to focus on cruising, long-trip friendly bikes, but the concept grew beyond that. Soon I realized that I had a faithful community of followers that needed advice and information. Hence, step by step, our content shifted towards wider topics.

Thanks to our solid team of writers and editors, readers can browse around and get all the information they need. This includes topics like manufacturers, model comparisons, advice, new releases, and videos. Some of the most experienced riders in the community write for us and send us their reviews.

Our goal: Creating a worldwide community

My initial objective was to publish reviews from my own bikes but now the platform has changed. The blog is a space where like-minded individuals can share their opinions, ask for advice, and support each other. Moreover, they can use the blog to get in touch with people which have the same interests.

The idea to create my own blog started in 2014 and now is finally a reality. I am proud of what I have achieved, and I thank my family, friends, and colleagues for their support and guidance. I hope people will find here valuable information when it comes to buying their new bike or upgrading.

Throughout my life, I have learned a great deal about motorcycles, their types, parts, uses, and even put together a small workshop for my bikes. Now I feel the urge to share this knowledge and acquire new one through the Motorcycle Trader online community.

Our mission: A solid community bringing support and value

Motorcycle Trader is focused on providing valuable content and community support. With this objective in mind, we strive to create an environment that will provide entertaining content as well as useful information.

I understand that the world has changed since I bought my first Yamaha, and now there are innovative ways to connect with people and access the markets. My team and I want to leverage digital advantages to create a valuable platform for motorcycle fans around the world.

This is the approach we choose to fulfil our goals. The Motorcycle Trader team is formed with people who love motorcycles and like to share their passion with others. We are committed to the maintenance and development of our blog to offer best-in-class content.
